Water Heater Leaking From Top Vent

Check the plumbing pipes above the water heater using a stepladder if necessary. 5 open drain valve. Rainwater can be blown in from outside. If you have a gas hot water heater leaking from the top one possibility is related to rain.
3 run garden hose to a safe place to dump hot water. A water heater leaking from the top is preferable to one from the bottom.
